The expedition was conducted with the cooperation of the U.S. Navy, Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum, and USDA. Entries are listed by date and are chronological. The field notes list supplies purchased in San Francisco and Honolulu (in some cases listing for whom the supplies were purchased); bird lists with name and gender (some measurements); journal style entries about daily activities, and interactions with members of the expedition; details about observed wildlife; specimen counts; list of reference materials; and list of film. In a separate envelope is a 30 page list of specimens collected by Wetmore. A letter with it (October 29, 1974) states that it is was found in Dr. Murphy's files, and returned to Wetmore by Mary LeCroy.
